Viacheslav (Slava) Artyushenko got his PhD in Solid State Physics in 1981 – focused on his pioneering development of unique technology for the production of polycrystalline fibres for mid-IR wavelengths: 3-18µm. His multiple publications and patents were devoted to speciality fibre optic technologies and their applications in laser surgery and diagnostics, in process-spectroscopy and fibre optic sensing. In 1998, he founded art photonics GmbH in Berlin – one of the worldwide leading manufacturers of various fibres, cables, bundles and spectroscopy probes used in the broad spectral range of 0.3-16 µm for many industrial, medical, scientific and other applications. Dr V. Artyushenko and art photonics participate in many EU and national projects, and they are members of EPIC, CPACT, SPIE, OSA, SAS, SPECTARIS, Optec-BB, Photonics-BB, GDCh-DECHEMA & CLIRSPEC.

Jan Mink Jan started to work at Philips in 1977 as an engineer. In 1979 he started to work with semiconductor lasers using scanning electron microscopy, to be able to see very tiny details of the diode laser layers. In 1985 he graduated cum-laude from the University in Eindhoven (Physics) while working full-time with Philips Electronics. Currently, new ventures are being founded in the field of gas sensors and active optical cables.

Dr. Huabei Jiang started his career as an assistant professor at Clemson University (Clemson, South Carolina, USA)in 1997 and became an associate professor and a professor at Clemson University in 2001 and 2003, respectively. He moved to the University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida, USA)in 2005 and became the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Endowed Chair there in 2008. Huabei joined the University of South Florida (USF) (Tampa, Florida, USA) in 2017 as a Professor and Director of the USF Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging.

Dr. Dmitry Starodubov, CEO of DSTAR Communications, has earned his M.S. in optical engineering, at the Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation, and then Ph.D. in laser physics at the General Physics Institute, the Russian Academy of Sciences, at Moscow, Russia. Dr. Starodubov has business development and hands-on experience through a wide range of commercial and US government programs including optical fiber manufacturing in space, a portable optical pathogen detection system for the Department of Homeland Security (2012 Prism Award), Air Force critical small business program for F35 manufacturing technology including industrial LED imaging interferometry and optical gyroscope detection of tool wear, Air Force suborbital rocket payload development, high power non-lethal laser weapon system development for US Marine Corps and many others. Dr. Starodubov has co-authored over 100 scientific publications and 28 U.S. patents. He is a citizen of the United States.

Prof. Edik U. Rafailov received his Ph.D. degree from Ioffe Institute, Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1992. In 1997, he moved to St. Andrews University, Scotland, UK and in 2005, he established a new group at Dundee University, Scotland, UK. In 2014, he and his Optoelectronics and Biomedical Photonics Group moved to Aston University, Birmingham, UK. He has authored and co-authored more than 500 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, including three books, ten invited chapters, and numerous plenary/invited talks. His current research interests include high-power CW and ultra-short pulsed lasers, generation of UV/visible/IR/MIR and THz radiation, nanostructures, nonlinear and integrated optics, and biomedical photonics.

Gary Pickrell is a Professor in Materials Science and Engineering; Associate Director of the Center for Photonics Technology in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Virginia Tech; Rolls Royce Commonwealth Director and Technical Advisory Board voting member to CCAM. He has been honored as a Fellow of SPIE, a Senior member of IEEE, a Faculty Fellow, an Outstanding Assistant Professor, and with an R&D 100 award. He has over 250 publications, including 20 books, 5 special Journal issues edited, and 20 patents issued. He has chaired ~ 35 international conferences on sensors and advanced materials, served on the organizing committee for ~ 50 conferences, and has been the PI on over $10 million in funded research and a PI or co-PI on over $20 million while at Virginia Tech. Previous to academia, he held various industrial positions such as process engineer, R&D Scientist, Technical Director, and member of the Board of Directors for various organizations. He has served on many technical advisory boards and review panels for both industry and government including NSF, DOE and twice on a Triennial Review Team of the Naval Research Lab facilities, personnel, and research projects and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a partnership whose members have included Rolls Royce, Airbus, Siemens, Canon, Aerojet, Sandvik, Chromalloy, Sulzer-Metco, Alcoa, Newport News Shipbuilding, NASA, the State of Virginia, UVA and Virginia Tech among others.

Samo Kralj has completed his Ph.D. from the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and postdoctoral studies at the University of Southampton (UK) and JSI (Slovenia). His research interests soft nanocomposites, biophysics, glassy systems, and topological defects. He is the head of the Laboratory of Complex Systems and professor of physics at FNM, University of Maribor, and senior adviser at JSI. Among others, he organized and chaired the European conference on liquid crystals (2011) and ESF exploratory workshop on topological defects (2013). So far he published about 200 papers which acquired about 3500 citations.

James Babington is currently a Lead Optical Design Specialist at Leonardo UK, based in Basildon. He is recognized by Leonardo as being a research-focused but application-driven specialist spanning product development and next-generation technology creation. He has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics and has held postdoctoral research positions in Europe (Germany, Italy, France) across multiple research areas (quantum optics and quantum field theory). For the last ten years, he has designed numerous visible and infrared optical imaging systems for both existing product roadmaps and low TRL one-off demonstrators. His current research interests span mathematical optics, freeform optics, diffractive optics, and computational imaging.

Prof. Wahab Almuhtadi has over 25 years of university teaching experience and over 31 years of industry experience. He is currently a Professor and Coordinator of the Optical Systems and Sensors Program at Algonquin College/Carleton University. He is also a Research & Development Coordinator at the School of Advanced Technology, Algonquin College. He had taught several courses at different levels in the Photonics Engineering Programs and has been a pioneer in design and development of innovative and effective curricula based on and parallel with the industry market need. Previously, he worked at Nortel as Senior System Engineer, Optical Solutions Research & Development. With his strong professional background, he demonstrated outstanding leadership leading Algonquin College to become a Polytechnic Institution. He established the Algonquin Applied Research fund of $10.5 million and is the founder of the $6 million cutting-edge Optophotonics Lab (Optical Communications Network) 200Gbps. He is one of the founders of Ontario’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN) with $65 million in funding. His expertise is in photonics, optical systems, and sensors, optical communications, and wireless. He has published several technical papers and books. Prof. Almuhtadi is currently the IEEE President of IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc). He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). He is a Member of the Research Council – Digital Research Alliance of Canada. He received several awards from IEEE, academia, and industry, including the IEEE Leadership Award in 2010, the IEEE Canada W.R. Service Award in 2015, the Teaching Excellence Laurent Isabelle Award in 2009, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Award in 2006, and the Canadian Pacific Railway Medal from the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) in 2015.

Dr. Sujan Rajbhandari is an internationally leading expert in the field of optical wireless communication (OWC) with over 200 scholarly articles and citations of >7000 (based on Google Scholar). His expertise is in the fields of OWC (Visible light communication (LiFi), free space optics (FSO)), advanced signal processing, and artificial intelligence for the new and emerging application areas such as frontal, backhaul, and access networks for 5G/6G, intelligent transport system (ITS), underwater communication etc. Dr Rajbhandari has significant experience in both academia and industry. He has worked at world-leading universities and research groups (Northumbria, Oxford, Coventry & Bangor universities, UK) and the leading industry (Huawei R&D centre, Sweden). He is currently working as a senior lecturer at Bangor University. From 2020 to 2021, he worked as an optical system engineer (senior expert) at Huawei R&D center, Gothenburg, where he led the research and development activities on OWC/FSO, VLC (Li-Fi), and optical signal processing. Prior to that, Dr Rajbhandari worked as a Lecturer (2015-2017) and Senior Lecturer (2017-2020) at Coventry University. At Coventry University, he led the research activities in optical wireless communication and led externally and internally funded projects. From 2012-2015, he was a post-doctorate researcher at the University of Oxford. He worked in the prestigious EPSRC's funded Ultra-parallel visible light communications (UP-VLC) project, a collaboration of five UK's leading Universities (Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Edinburgh and Strathclyde). He worked as a post-doctorate researcher at Northumbria University (2009-2012). Dr Rajbhandari's contribution to his research field is widely recognized. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, he was elevated to Senior Member of IEEE in 2017. He regularly collaborates with leading UK and international universities producing several publications. He has served as the lead guest editor for Special Issue on "Visible Light Communication Networks"', Sensors Journal, 2018 and editorial board members for MDPI, Hindawi and Frontiers Journals. He has given invited talks at conferences and seminars, invited papers, and book chapters. He has also been a regular reviewer for leading international journals, conferences, and grant applications.

Prof Luis Alberto Angurelis Professor at the University of Zaragoza and coordinates the research group “Lasers for energy and advanced materials” at the Institute of Nanoscience and Material of Aragón, a joint research institute of CSIC and University of Zaragoza. His main area of research is the application of laser technologies to improve the performance of superconducting materials. From the point of view of material fabrication, he has been working on two main research lines: i) the development of laser melting techniques to control the texture of bulk High Temperature Superconductors and other ceramics with different cylindrical and planar geometries 2) the application of ultrashort pulse laser to modify surface properties. In this field, he has been developing this technology to improve surface superconductivity, for instance, in Nb. In addition, he has been working on the development of laser technologies in different application fields. He has been collaborating with different companies to control surface properties for different applications, designing laser protocols that can be scaled up to industrial environments. Also, he is the promotor of a start-up company that applies laser technologies to obtain new glass products with improved mechanical properties. He has published more than 100 papers in international journals, coordinated 26 research projects, and has been the supervisor or co-supervisor in 11 Ph.D. theses related to superconductivity and laser material processing.

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor at the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interest is intelligent photonics, including optical communications, optical perception, and optical chips. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >9,000 citations, five edited books, two book chapters, >50 issued or pending patents, >170 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial, >10 plenaries, and >30 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and an Editor Board Member for three other scientific journals. He also served as Guest Editor for ten journal special issues, Chair or Committee Member for >80 international conferences, Reviewer for >60 prestigious journals.

Dr. Bin Chen is a full professor and vice-director of the State Key Laboratory of Multiphase Flow in Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. For more than a decade, Prof. Chen has devoted his efforts to the interdisciplinary research on the laser-tissue interaction in dermatology (vascular malformation and pigmentary lesions), ophthalmic therapy, lipolysis, etc. Currently, he is working on the photon transportation and heat transfer in skin tissue, as well as the thermal damage mechanism for 585/595nm pulse dye laser, 755nm Alexandrite, and 1064nm Nd: YAG laser. He is also developing hybrid laser speaking and hyperspectral imaging technology for the non-invasive detection of skin tissue structure and online monitoring of subcutaneous blood flow. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed international journal papers and served as a member of the World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers and editorial board member for several scientific journals.

Vladimir Litvinenko is a Professor of Physics at Stony Brook University, where he serves as Director of the Center for Accelerator Science and Education and leads the Ernest Courant Traineeship in Accelerator Science. He has a joint appointment at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he lead the Coherent electron Cooling experiment at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Litvinenko started his carrier at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics in Novosibirsk, where he built and commissioned the world’s first UV FEL. Starting from 1991, as a professor at Duke University, he leads the design and commissioning of the Duke storage ring, its FEL, and most importantly unique and record-performing High-Intensity γ-rat Source. His current interests include cooling of high energy hadron beams, ERL-based high-energy electron-positron, and electron-hardon colliders as well as high-performance plasma accelerators.

Dr. Joseph Tischler obtained his Licenciatura from the University of Buenos Aires and his Ph.D. from The University at Buffalo. He joined the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow in 2000. In 2002 he was hired as a Research Physicist eventually becoming the Head of the Nano-Optoelectronics Section and subsequently of the Optoelectronics and Radiation Effects Branch. In 2021 Dr. Tischler joined the University of Oklahoma as an Associate Professor and Avenir Foundation Chair in Condensed Matter Physics. He has published more than 100 research articles in scientific journals and holds several patents.

Professor Tatjana Gric, since 2003 has been engaged in the investigation of waveguide devices (waveguide modulators, filters, etc.), namely on proposing their electrodynamical analysis of various complex structures (e.g., tissue-like structures). Another major goal of her studies is plasmonics as the examination of the interaction between electromagnetic field and free electrons in a metal. The optically-active nanostructures have been simulated and their fundamental photonic properties have been explored. During the past few years, she has been working on the investigation of nanostructured composites and their fascinating properties. She has authored and co-authored over 70 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings. She also holds a 1LT patent.

Professor Nadezhda M. Bulgakova got higher education in physics from the Novosibirsk State University, Russia. She received Ph.D. and Doctor of Science (habilitation) degrees, in 1985 and 2002 respectively, from the Institute Thermophysics of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences where she was leading the group of Theory of Laser Ablation. From 2001-2010, she worked as a visiting scientist and guest professor at Gothenburg University (Sweden), Max-Born Institute (Berlin, Germany), Université de la Mediterranée (Marseille, France), Hubert Curien Laboratory of the University of Saint-Etienne (France), and University of Antwerp (Belgium) where she was developing theories of Coulomb explosion, volumetric modification of transparent dielectrics, surface nanostructuring, and others. In 2010 Professor Bulgakova received Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship and from 2011-2013 she worked at Optoelectronics Research Centre, Southampton, UK. Since 2014, she works at the HiLASE Centre of the Institute of Physics ASCR, Czech Republic, from 2020 as the Head of the Department of Scientific Laser Applications. In 2017, her project “BIATRI - Advanced designing of functional materials: From mono- to BI- and TRI-chromatic excitation with tailored laser pulses” was funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget of Czech Republic for 6 years. Within the project activity, she and her team have established a laser application laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art lasers, advanced diagnostics, and material characterization techniques. The laboratory combines synergistically theoretical and experimental studies and focuses on laser processing of materials, surface and volume micro/nanostructuring, and nanomaterial synthesis including nanotools for bio-applications.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Angela Amphawan received her PhD in optical communications from University of Oxford, UK. She then won the prestigious Fulbright Award to work on optical devices and networks at the Research Laboratory of Electronics and MIT Media Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. She currently leads the Photonics Laboratory at Sunway University.

Dr. Petrovic-Filipovic was born in 1977in Nis, Serbia, where he accomplished his primary and secondary education. After graduating at the University of Nis, Mechanical Engineering Faculty, he pursued his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Valencia (Spain) as a grant holder of the Spanish Government. Since 2008 he holds a Ph.D. in automated CAE tools for manufacturability assessment. In the last 15 years, Dr. Petrovic-Filipovic has been engaged in the R&D activities related to Laser Material Processing and Additive Manufacturing, having worked in several renowned Spanish and Austrian technological centers, where he conceived and participated in more than 50 research projects in the field of laser material processing at national and EU level. He participates actively in many relevant platforms such as Photonics Austria, EFFRA, AM Austria, AM Platform, etc.

Dr. Djeylan Aktas is head of the experimental photonics quantum communication group at the Institute of Physics of Slovak Academy of Sciences (IPSAS). He received his diploma in fundamental physics from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in 2011. He obtained a PhD in experimental quantum photonics in the same university at the INPHYNI with the QPI team in 2016 gaining a wide knowledge in designing complex photonics experiments and their applications in quantum communication and sensing. After that, he became a Senior Research Associate in the quantum communication team at QETLabs leading the work on the development of integrated photonics devices for quantum networks. After his involvement in the first phase of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, he became a co-investigator in phase 2 and he participated in the international collaborative research program on quantum technologies funded by Innovate UK and the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Lilia Morales Chacon MD, PhD is a full professor at the Medical University in Havana Cuba. She has worked at the International Center for Neurological Restoration since 1990. Dr. Morales Chacon is considered a leader in the field of epilepsy in Cuba and Latin-America. At present, she is the head of the Cuban League against Epilepsy and a member of the Executive of the Cuban Neuroscience Society.Shewas a member of the Executive of the Latin American Commission of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) from the period 2013-2021.

Aleksander Zidanšek is Vice Dean of Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School responsible for study matters since 2020. He has been a Professor of Physics at the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the University of Maribor since 2011. He started his research career at Jozef Stefan Institute in 1988 and is a researcher in Condensed Matter Physics Department. Professor Zidanšek is also the founding member of the Slovenian Association for the Club of Rome and its President since 2011. Professor Zidanšek received his education from the University of Ljubljana. After Bachelor’s Degree in Physics in 1989 and a Master’s Degree in Physics in 1992, he completed Doctoral studies in Condensed Matter Physics with Professor Robert Blinc in 1995. For his first postdoc, he was a Fulbright Fellow with Professor V. Hugo Schmidt at Montana State University in 1995 and 1996. In 1997 and 1998, he was a researcher at Trieste Syncrotrone in Italy.

Kenny Hey Tow has a Ph.D. in Photonics. He joined RISE in 2018 and is a Senior Scientist at the Optical Fiber Sensors Group. He is working with both industrial and academic partners on fibre-optic sensor projects leading to prototypes and industrial implementation. Before joining RISE, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Group for Fibre Optics laboratory of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland for five years where he managed and participated in research projects related to optical fibre sensing and specialty fibres. From October 2016 till May 2018, he was the project manager of an Innovative Training Network FINESSE (FIbre NErvous Sensing SystEms), a collaborative research and training network funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Sklodowska - Curie grant agreement n° 722509. This ITN gathers 26 European universities, research centers, and industrial partners with complementary expertise with the ultimate vision of widespread implementation of distributed optical fibre sensor systems for a safer society. He is currently representing RISE in Photonhub Europe (GA 101016665), a European resource network in Photonics, and Camart2 (GA739508).

Mário F. S. Ferreira graduated in Physics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and received a Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1992 from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he is now a Professor in the Physics Department. Between 1990 and 1991 he was at the University of Essex, UK, performing experimental work on external cavity semiconductor lasers and nonlinear optical fiber amplifiers. His research interests have been concerned with the modelling and characterization of multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, polarization, and nonlinear effects in optical fibers. He is actually the leader of the Optics and Optoelectronics Group of the I3N – Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling, and Nanofabrication. He is Member of IEEE, a Senior Member and a Travelling Lecturer of both of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering, He served in various committees of OSA and SPIE, as well as in the organizing and scientific committees of various international conferences. Actually, he serves also as an Associate Editor or as an Advisor Board Member of several international journals in the area of optics and photonics.

Professor Hideki Kyogoku, Faculty of Engineering, Kindai University, is a Councillor of Kindai University and a Fellow of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. He obtained a Doctor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Systems Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1989. He worked at The University of Texas at Austin as a visiting research associate during 2001-2002. He founded the Advanced Additive Manufacturing Research Center at Kindai University, Hiroshima, in 2014 as its Director since then. He served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering during 2004-2008, Director of Research Institute of Fundamental Technology for Next Generation during 2007-2011, and Dean of Faculty of Engineering during 2008-2014 at Kindai University

Dr. P. K. Dash is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, at Sandip University, Nashik Maharashtra, India. He has vast educational experience in the field of Aerospace Engineering. He maintained a long trend of administrative experience in the education sector. He has held positions such as Dean, Principal, Director of Research, and Head of Department for over 30 years. He has several academic and research achievements to his credit. He has carried out a number of funded research projects and guided more than 100 students both from UG, PG, and Ph. D. studies. In addition to winning the best researcher awards, he has also been a recipient of numerous research paper awards. Additionally, he served as a panelist at professional societies at the International and National levels. Professor Dr. Sevia Mahdaliza Idrus received her Bachelor in Electrical Engineering in 1998 and Master in Engineering Management in 1999, both from UTM. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2004 from the University of Warwick, the United Kingdom in optical communication engineering. She has served UTM since 1998 as an academic and administrative staff. Her main research interests are optical communication systems and networks, optoelectronic design, and engineering management. Her research output has been translated into a number of publications (H-index-17) and IPR including high-end reference books, ‘Optical Wireless Communication: IR Connectivity’ published by Taylor and Francis, 49 book chapters and monographs, over 200 refereed research papers, 8patents granted, 36 patent filings and holds 31 UTM copyrights. To date, she has secured and been involved in 84 research and consultation projects with a total value of USD25M. She is the founder and Director of a UTM spin-off company, iSmartUrus Sdn Bhd (1057063A) successfully commercialized her invention, a novel airtime-based mobile micropayment solution and application-centric IoT-based mobile enforcement device for a smart city. She is actively involved in a number of industrial and international research collaboration projects, delivered keynote and invited speeches to many international conferences and seminars. Based on her active contribution with industry for smart city solution, she has been awarded ‘The Top Research Scientists Malaysia 2021’ by Academy Science Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the ‘51 Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders 2019 Award’ in conjunction with World CSR Day & World Sustainability Congress 2019, Mumbai, India on March 2019. She led a four years G2G project on the ‘Radar over Fiber Foreign Object Debris Detection System’ field trial at Kuala Lumpur International Airport(KLIA) a collaboration project between UTM, Hitachi Kokusai Electric Japan, and Malaysia Airport (Sepang) under financial support from Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication Japan. The project has made KLIA and Malaysia as world focal points for the development of high-precision millimeter-wave radar in the 90-100GHz range. She is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the Editorial Board of a few refereed international journals. She has been appointed as Guest Professor at Osaka Prefecture University and Tokai University, Japan in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

Doctor Rahul Kumar, is currently working asProject-coordinator &Lecturer in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the University of Highlands & Island, UK. His current research interests involve developing optical as well as electronic sensors for industrial applications. He has worked as a KTP – Research associate at University of Sheffield, during which he developed a conductivity sensor for measuring levels of sediment and water in wastewater treatment setup. He completed his PhD from Northumbria University in the field of Optical fiber sensors and has developed several sensors for measuring physical and biochemical sensing applications. During his Ph.D., he received collaborative research funding from Nanchang Hangkong University, China to develop an optical fiber bio sensor. He has authored and co-authored in several reputed journals including Nature’s Scientific Reports.

Dr. Vinnakota is an Assistant professor and an Electronics Engineering Technology program coordinator at Troy University, Alabama, USA. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, Louisiana, USA, and completed his postdoctoral work at Computational Electromagnetism Research Lab (CERL) and Institute of Micro Manufacturing (IFM), at Louisiana Tech University. His research interests include Novel Optoelectronic Devices, Metal, Semiconductor based Plasmonics and enhanced light-matter interactions, Nanophotonics, and Heat Transfer. Vinnakota has published more than 15 peer-reviewed papers and conference proceedings in leading journals and conferences.

B. Imran Akca (Avci) got her BS degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey in 2006 with a focus on photonics and medical imaging. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Integrated Optical Microsystems Group at the University of Twente, The Netherlands in 2012. During her Ph.D. research, she applied her strong integrated optics knowledge to an emerging imaging modality, i.e. optical coherence tomography (OCT) to reduce the cost and size of these bulky systems. She was one of the few researchers working on portable, cheap, and compact OCT systems in the world. Between 2013- 2015 she was a postdoctoral researcher at Prof. Yun’s research lab at Harvard Medical School. She worked on a novel functional imaging system called OCT videography for assessing corneal biomechanical properties. In 2015, she received a VENI grant and came back to the Netherlands as a post-doctoral researcher at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Prof. Ton G. van Leeuwen’s group. In 2016, she received Marie-Curie Individual Fellowship. As of September 2017, she is an assistant professor on the tenure track at the VU University Amsterdam, Department of Physics and Astronomy Biophotonics and Medical Imaging Group. Her research combines integrated optics with different imaging and sensing modalities in order to realize novel portable, affordable and higher-sensitivity devices.

More than 17 years of experience as an Optical Engineer. Currently working as Optical Engineer at Blossom Innovations in the greater Boston Area, USA. Previously worked at Qioptiq Singapore and Lytro as Optical Engineer. Holds MS from the University of Arizona in Optical Sciences, USA in 2014 and MSc in Physics from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, India in 2006. Have several approved US and international patents. Current interests include High power laser beam delivery optics, Tissue Optics, optical design, and illumination.

Dr. M Shafiqur Rahman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University (LaTech), Ruston, LA. Before joining LaTech as a faculty, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Civil Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. He pursued his Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Orleans, New Orleans, LA, in 2020 and 2016, respectively, and served there as a faculty in Mechanical Engineering. His area of research covers additive manufacturing/3D printing, solid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and machine learning. Dr. Rahman is passionate about research-based teaching, supervising students, promoting diversity, and learning new things that come across in our day-to-day life.

Prof. Grigorii S. Sokolovskii received an M.Sc. degree in optical electronics from St. Petersburg State Electro-Technical University (LETI), St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1994, and a Ph.D. and Doctor of Science (Habilitation) in physics of semiconductors from the Ioffe Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1998 and 2010 correspondingly. In 2015, he became a Professor at the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1994 he joined Ioffe Institute as a Research Associate and now holds the position of the Chief Researcher at this institute. He also chairs the Department of Physics and Modern Technologies of Solid-State Electronics at LETI. His main research interests include laser physics, nanophotonics, and nonlinear optics. He co-authored about 300 research publications, books, and patents on these topics.

Estefania Hernandez-Martin works at the University of La Laguna as a researcher awarded by EU NextGeneration. She received her Ph.D. degree in 2018 focused on neuroimaging techniques in the human brain. Her expertise is in the optical field, developing a new approach in data processing for diffuse optical imaging compared with functional magnetic resonance imaging. Also, she has been working as a research associate at both the University of California, Irvine, and the University of Southern California developing and optimizing algorithms for electrophysiological data sets. Her research focuses on signal processing, modeling, multivariate statistics, and data interpretation for both electrophysiological and neuroimaging data sets that help to explain the behavior of the brain.

Prof. Nikola Slavković was born in Belgrade, Serbia. He has earned BSc, MPhil, and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Belgrade, School of Electrical Engineering. He has over 20 years of university teaching experience. He was co-founder of several educational programs and vice-chairman of the ICT College Belgrade. He was a teaching assistant of Physics in the School of electrical engineering, University of Belgrade. Later, he was a professor of Optical systems, communications, and networks, at ICT College Belgrade. His current job position is as a Professor of Electrical engineering and Computer science at the Academy of Applied Technical Studies. His expertise is in artificial intelligence, optical systems, communications, autonomous driving, smart city implementations, and cyber security systems. He published over 50 research papers and College textbooks. Prof. Slavkovićworks for the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure as a state-certificated engineer in the field of Electrical engineering and Computer science. He has over 15 years of industry experience in telco system projects. He is currently a member of the FTTH council of Serbia, providing new algorithms for all-optical network solutions. He is also a Senior Member of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers.

Mr. Luis Porta-Velillais completing his Ph.D. at the University of Zaragoza. His research interests fall within the discipline of biomedical engineering including the application of laser technologies in the field of biomedicine in order to produce antimicrobial surfaces and the study of the photothermal properties of nanoparticles under laser irradiation.

After a one year Master's degree in General Physics at the University of Bucharest in Romania and a Master's degree in Digital Physics at the University of Montpellier in France, François Margall started a PhD on physically realistic hyperspectral image synthesis applied to vehicle detection at ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab. His work focuses more specifically on the measurement and modeling of spectral BRDFs and their integration into a rendering engine.

Marina Lekic is an assistant research professor at Institute of Physics Belgrade, Serbia. She received Ph.D. degree in Physics, quantum optics, in 2010. from Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade, Serbia. Marina’s main research interests and skills are in lasers, quantum optics (coherent optical effects in atomic vapor), laser spectroscopy, nonlinear optics and laser-matter interactions. She was a postdoc (PdL fellowship) during 2011 in Photonics laboratory in Angers, France. Dr Lekic is the co-founder and Head of the Laboratory for optoelectronics accredited for calibration of fiber optic test equipment. She was a member of a number of international committees and she has been organized several national and international scientific events.

Dr. Nitin Goyal is working as an Assistant Professor at the Central University of Haryana, Mahenderagarh. He is a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, India. He is specialized in underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSN), having applications of military operations. He obtained his B.Tech in 2007 and M.Tech in 2009 from Computer Science and Engineering at Kurukshetra University, India. He worked on wireless sensor networks (WSN), mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET), etc. He is having around 14 years of teaching experience along with Academic work. He has published approximately 110 research papers in various International/National Journals, Books and Conferences out of which 60 are SCI, 3 are SCOPUS, 11 are book chapters, and 30 are conference papers. He has filed more than 25 patents, out of which 7 are published and 5 are granted. Also, he has attended 13 workshops and 3 FDPs. He is the Editor of 2 books from different publishers such as IGI Global, and CRC Press.

Mohammedi Ferhat, a Full Professor teaches optics physics & lasers at the department of Physics of University of Biskra, Algeria. He holds a D-E-A degree in system’s and Photonics Engineering from Telcom Physique de Strasbourg (T.P.S)- Strasbourg (France), as well as a Master's and a Ph.D. in mathematics physics from the University of Louis Pasteur Strasbourg, France. Apart from Mathematics and physics proper which is his main area of study, his research interests include Simulations phenomena physics and mathematics , as well as the interface between computer simulation of science and epistemology and the relations between analytic and continental approaches to philosophy. During the period 1990–1994 he worked in the fields of molecular beam and reaction dynamics at the Universities of Laboratory systems photonics (STRASBOURG , FRANCE) and GREPA-Photonics ( Strasbourg, France), and in later years at universities in the FRANCE . He became Assistant Professor in mathematical Physics in 1994 and ASSOCIATE Professor in 1993, both at the department physics mathematics- University of BISKRA. His research interests focus mainly on gas-phase, Power photonics lasers,. Commuinity Services, Teaching and Research in the field of Environment Protection, Modeling and simulation of systems using MATLAB & Simulink, lasers, atomic and molecular spectroscopy, laser applications.

Tekleab Andemariam received his degree in Physics at the Eritrean Institute of Technology Mai-Nephi, Eritrea in 2019. As he had obtained first-class Honours in Physics, he had been working as a Graduate assistantship at the Eritrean Institute Technology (EIT). He got an opportunity to come across several professors and to develop his communication skills, teaching professionalism, and research-oriented activities. After three years of work experience, now he is pursuing his masters at National University of Science and Technology ‘MISIS’, Moscow, in the field of “Quantum Physics for Advanced Material Engineering”. He is highly interested in “Nano photonics devices” and he is doing his thesis in this field of area. He is good at programming languages like python, and Java and is highly qualified in data science. It gives him independence and self-reliance in analyzing any kind of experimental data. When he is not studying or doing in his laboratory, Tekleab loves playing football, spending time with his family, and visiting new places.

Janmey jay Panda is pursuing his Ph.D. at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Hyderabad, India under the joint guidance of Dr. T.N. Narayanan and Dr. G. Rajalakshmi. His current research interests include the development of optical and electronic probing techniques for the study of 2D-materials, thin films, and topological materials under extreme conditions of temperature.
